New post box outside new post office in Eastcote

Plans by Royal Mail to relocate a post box in Eastcote have been ditched.

The town’s residents’ association has learnt that the post box at the junction of Morford Way and Field End Road will remain at its present position.

Instead, Royal Mail has said it will be placing an extra box outside the new Post Office in Forget Me Not gift shop in the High Street.

It opened in October last year, despite opposition from those who did not want to see it change location. The closure of the original post office in Field End Road had been confirmed in July.
