POLICE investigating the fatal shooting of a young father are appealing for two dog walkers to come forward.

Jason Johnson was shot in the chest in an alley behind Cavendish Avenue in West Ealing at about 8.50pm on November 21.

The 24-year-old of Cheyne Path, Acton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Inspector Dan Smith, investigating, said: "We know that a man rang police at 8.37pm on Friday, November 21 from the Gurnell Leisure Centre and reported he had seen three men acting suspiciously. We have not been able to contact that man since he called 999 and we are very keen to speak to him.

"Just before Jason was shot, there was a couple walking a dog along the pathway that leads from Hathaway Gardens to Gurnell Grove, past the school. We are very keen to speak to them as they may have vital evidence."

(BULLET) Dale Ebanks, 19, of Crane Court, Gurnell Grove, Hanwell, has been charged with murder in connection with the shooting. A 17-year-old man was arrested and bailed to return to a police station pending further inquiries.
