The Black Bull will get a facelift, with plans for a complete refurbishment inside and out.

John Whelan is set to take over the lease of the pub and with experience running several other pubs, including The Six Bells, in Station Road, West Drayton, and the brewery thinks he is the perfect man to turn the pub around.

Star Bars & Pubs have submitted two planning applications to Hillingdon Council for new signs, lighting and chalk boards outside, and to convert a redundant bottle cellar inside into a lounge and seating area.

The revamp will include repairs to the car park, structural alterations to extend the drinking and eating area, new flooring, decorations, new toilets, including a disabled facility, upgrading to the garden and terrace areas and a new covered smoking area.

There will also be a new kitchen and catering equipment.
