Need help sticking to your new year's resolutions in 2015?

You needn't go it alone as support is available from Hounslow Council when it comes to quitting drinking or smoking, or getting fitter and eating more nutritious food.

Hounslow Council has launched a campaign urging people to commit to leading a healthier lifestyle and providing them with advice and backing to ensure they stick to their guns.

Councillor Sachin Gupta, the council's health chief, said: "It's easy making a new year's resolution but a lot harder sticking to it.

"I myself am looking to taking more exercise, so helping to promote this scheme is very timely. It means though that I now need to walk the walk and not just talk the talk!"

The support on offer includes practical advice for those looking to take the Dry January challenge and make an alcohol-free start to 2015, along with information about substituting healthy alternatives for sugary snacks.
