A MURDER inquiry is underway after two men were stabbed near a pub in Dollis Hill.

Police were called to The Ox and Gate Pub on Coles Green Road at 11.30pm on Saturday to reports of a stabbing, and found two victims.

A 25-year-old man died at the scene, police are still awaiting formal identification.

The second man, aged 56, was taken by ambulance to a London hospital where his condition is understood to be serious but stable.

A post-mortem was held at Northwick Park Hospital mortuary yesterday, which gave the cause of death as a stab wound.

Both victims had been at the pub where people gathered to watch the Champions League final on TV.

It is thought some sort of altercation began which spilled outside the pub, and the victims were stabbed a short distance away at Crest Road and its junction with Alder Grove.

DCI Duffield said: "We urgently need to hear from anyone who was in or near the Ox and Gate pub around 23.30pm that evening.

"The pub was still very busy at that time, and we are confident that several people will have seen elements of what happened - we urge them to come forward and contact the incident room. If they wish to remain anonymous they may call Crimestoppers."

Any witnesses or anyone with information can call the incident room on 020 8358 0400.

To remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Three men were arrested on the night, two of them were 17-years-old and one was 31-years-old.

They were taken to separate London police stations.

The 31-year-old man was bailed to return in late June pending further enquiries and the other two suspects remain in custody.
