A MOTHER who set up a spring fair in memory of her infant son who died suddenly last year, said ‘I’ve done my angel proud’.

Tanya Grujic, 32, of Lancaster Road, Northolt spent the last year organising and getting sponsorship for the fair held at Perivale Residents' Association clubhouse on Saturday (May 12).

More than 150 people arrived to enjoy the burst of sunshine and show support to the devastated mother whose baby boy, Marko, passed away just 10 days old last January.

He died at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in North Acton after suffering brain damage during birth.

The family raised £2,200 for children’s charity Bibic on the day and through generous donations online.

Mrs Grujic, who chose her fifth wedding anniversary to hold the special day, said: “It brought back a lot of raw emotions but I feel like I’ve done my angel proud. It was something I needed to do for him in his memory and now I can start concentrating on the family I still have.”

Proud mum and dad Luka said it was great to see older brother Danilo, now four, and four-month-old sister Mia remember Marko in a positive way.

The family thanked neighbour Dawn Kendall for her help during the difficult time, Kats Castles who donated two bouncy castles on the day and the Bubble Bus for donating 50 per cent of their takings.
