A RUISLIP mum who wants to build a play area at a hospital to entertain children has just £7,000 left to raise to make her wish come true.

Sarah Mustoe, 29, of Exmouth Road, Ruislip, has already managed to raise £16,000 for the play area appeal in just four months.

The pirate-themed playground will be built outside the Peter Pan ward at Hillingdon Hospital, in Pield Heath Road, Hillingdon.

She and her son Tommy, two, have been visiting the hospital since he was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis last January.

She came up with the idea for the play area after spending a lot of time there with her son and her five-year-old daughter, Lily.

Toy manufacturer Hasbro, of Roundwood Avenue, Stockley Park, and Barclays, in High Street, Ruislip, have already donated money to the cause, along with many other businesses in the borough.

To help raise more money Mrs Mustoe organised a dinner and dance at Venue 5, in Field End Road, Eastcote, on April 3.

A staggering £11,000 was raised and £2,500 of that will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Mrs Mustoe said: "am in total shock at people's support and generosity. I had hoped to raise about £4000.

"The fundraising has gone brilliantly so far and the response has been fantastic.

"I thought it would take a couple of years to get the money but I am already half way there. I would like to keep the momentum going."

To help raise the extra £7,000 still needed The Chimes shopping centre, in High Street, Uxbridge, have given her a space outside Next to hold face painting and a fancy dress competition among other things on May 26.

She has also got a face painting stand at Ruislip Manor Fun Day on July 4.

She said: "This time next year we will definitely start to lay the foundations and get things really moving. I am hoping it will all be finished by the end of next year."
