MP's carnival stunt was poor

I WOULD like to congratulate all those who took part in the Hayes Carnival for their hard work and for creating such a wonderful event.

I was, however, most disappointed to witness John McDonnell MP, accompanied by several Labour councillors, distributing leaflets along the Carnival route which contained the falsehood that Conservative-run Hillingdon Council had sought to 'kill off'the Hayes Carnival.

Let me clarify - the funding of Hayes Carnival has never been under threat and its future is secure with the Conservative council.

I personally look forward to supporting this fantastic event for many years to come and hope that John will desist from alarming all those who work so hard to make it such a super day.
