AN INVESTIGATOR who is considering an appeal against the demolition of a block of flats has requested more evidence.

Mittal Properties, which owns the block of one and two-bedroom homes at 117 Pinner Road, in Northwood Hills, has appealed against a demolition notice by Hillingdon Council issued on the grounds that the flats were not built in accordance with planning permission.

An independent government inspector was brought in to analyse the council’s reasoning and Mittal’s appeal against demolition.

The block is home to about 70 families.

Mittal says the necessary changes can be made to bring the property in line with regulations, but the council says the height of the building cannot be rectified and the only solution is to tear it down.

The inspector has asked for more evidence, which will be presented at a hearing on October 8. A decision will be due eight weeks later.
