CASANOVAS in Uxbridge beat lonely hearts in Westminster and Kensington to the amount of presents bought on Valentine’s Day.

According to research by a card company the most romantic part of London is Farringdon with Uxbridge in third place, Acton in fourth and Wembley in fifth.

However, those in other parts of west London didn’t fare so well and although Southwark tops the list of the borough where the least Valentine’s Day gifts are bought Westminster comes in third, Richmond is second and Kensington is fifth.

The Internet card and florist company Moonpig discovered that the south of England is the UK’s most loved-up region for Valentine’s Day.

Moonpig commissioned an independent consumer research survey and asked people about their views on romantic gestures.

They also found that Londonders are most likely to go on a first date on Valentine’s Day, and are also most likely to be miffed if they don’t receive flowers at work on the day of love.

Overall more than one in four people said that a bouquet of flowers would be their ideal gift on Valentine’s Day and a dozen red roses are preferable over a box of chocolates.
