HOPEFUL models with specs appeal could win a modelling contract and stop kids being bulled for wearing glasses.

Actress Kara Tointon launched the Specsavers competition to find ordinary people to become the UK's Spectacle Wearer of the Year.

The Strictly Come Dancing Star, who wears reading glasses herself, said: "I love wearing my glasses. It's amazing how a pair of glasses can completely change your look and transform you from dowdy to fabulous in a flash.

"On a more serious note, it's important that children and teenagers who need to wear glasses for reading and learning are not put off wearing them because they are teased."

Specsavers will donate £1 for every competition entry to anti-bullying charity Kidscape.

The winner will scoop a year modelling contract and an all-inclusive holiday to Barbados.

Anyone aged 16 or over who thinks they look gorgeous in glasses and would like to enter should visit www.specsavers.co.uk
