AN ELDERLY man on a mobility scooter lost a leg after being run over by a lorry.
The 71-year-old victim's right leg was amputated when he went under the rear wheels of white articulated heavy goods vehicle while it was turning into High Street, Harlesden, at its junction with Park Parade outside The Royal Oak pub.
He remains in a critical but stable condition at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington following the collision at 11.20am on Wednesday last week.
Detective Sergeant Chris Osborne, of the Metropolitan Police's Alperton-based Road Death Investigation Unit, said: “It is still under investigation but is being treated as an accident.
“It would appear there’s no offences at this stage and no arrests have been made.”
Det Sgt Osborne said his officers had collected very clear closed-circuit television footage of the collision but said any witnesses can call the unit on 0208 842 1817.
