I awoke on Monday, February 2, to find the house surrounded by eight inches of snow and discover, via the television, that airports were closed, London buses not running and severe disruptions to the underground and rail services.
But, sitting on my doorstep, was my usual order of milk, so I would just like to congratulate my milkman, Charles Chapman, of Dairy Crest, for his valiant efforts to provide a service to his customers.
