A dream came true for Lynn Sheridan when she met TV star John Barrowman at Slimming World's glitzy awards ceremony in Birmingham.
Lynn, who manages weight loss groups in Harefield, was thrilled when John - Captain Jack in Torchwood and judge on TV talent shows Any Dream Will Do and How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? - described her as an inspiration.
Mr Barrowman said: "Seeing people's dreams come true is an incredible thing and I've had the privilege of doing that through my TV career.
"Lynn is special because she is helping people to achieve their dreams every week. It really was a pleasure to meet her."
Having capped an exciting year by meeting the guest of honour at the glamorous event, the Slimming World leader is feeling positive about the year ahead.
Ms Sheridan said: "Meeting John was an amazing experience. I couldn't believe that he was even more gorgeous in real life but I'll be treasuring our photograph together.
"The message I'm giving people this New Year is that with the support of like-minded people anything is possible. I know times are tough financially but looking after your health and well-being is a priority and, in fact, members of my group tell me they're spending less on food now than they ever were before, so they're winning all round."
