McDonald's Brentford High Street restaurant was left flushed with success at the annual independent Loo of the Year Awards.

Franchisee Pru Naik and his crew were awarded a gold status for the restaurant’s toilet facilities, which were judged on a wide range of criteria, including signage, décor, fixtures and fittings, as well as overall standards of cleanliness and management.

The independent awards have been identifying the best toilets in Britain since 1987, making it a standard setter for all those who provide ‘away from home’ facilities for staff and customers.

Mr Naik said: “We want every aspect of a visit to our restaurants to be of the highest possible standard. We believe that clean toilet facilities are essential.”

Loo of the Year contenders, with the owner’s or manager’s permission, can be nominated by anyone. Following nomination, the entries are critiqued by an independent inspector.
