A PRIMARY school formed by merging two schools celebrated the final stage in the process at the opening of its new combined entrance.
Cranford Primary School opened in September 2011 after Cranford Infants & Nursery and Cranford Junior schools were brought together under a single roof.
Staff and pupils have worked hard ever since to complete the amalgamation, from designing a new school crest to choosing a single IT system.
That hard slog had already paid off with the new school, in Berkeley Avenue, being rated ‘good’ by Ofsted inspectors in March – the second highest mark available.
But deputy headteacher Kath Briggs described the opening of its new combined entrance, reception and staff rooms on Monday last week, as the ‘icing on the cake’.
Hounslow mayor Sachin Gupta cut the ribbon at the new entrance as pupils of all ages entertained guests on the day, including Feltham & Heston MP Seema Malhotra.
