I'M WRITING to update your readers on progress on the Marshall Street project, which will not only see the renewal of a historic pool in the heart of Soho, but a state of the art leisure centre for local people.

I am delighted to announce that despite the current economic climate Westminster Council and its development partner, Marshall Street Regeneration Ltd completed their development agreement worth £25million, and major works have now started on site.

The demolition of buildings in Dufours Place will be taking place during Autumn 2008-Winter 2008, with refurbishment works to Marshall Street Baths expected in the Summer of 2009.

ISG Interior Exterior Plc are the construction managers for the project and they will be overseeing and carrying out the demolition, building and restoration of the listed features for the regeneration of the site.

We will of course keep local residents informed, and will post regular updates on the website www.marshallstreet-w1.co.uk

Residents with any local issues they wish to raise can call the ISG project office directly. All contacts are on the website under 'contact us'.

Thank you for your continued support and interest in this exciting redevelopment in the heart of Soho. We look forward to the completion of the construction work and the grand re-opening of the leisure centre in 2010.
