Wolverine lookalike Marcus Akin is hoping to win Big Brother for his hometown of Brentford after becoming a contestant on the reality TV show.

The 35-year-old window fitter, who once rode a motorbike through a corridor at Hounslow Manor School, where he was a pupil from 1985-1990, reckons he's got the qualities to win the show.

Viewers saw ponytailed Marcus fire eating on his audition video and saw him declare: "You're born being cool or you're not."

He denies looking like Wolverine, telling Big Brother interviewers: "He looks like me. I don't look like him."

Marcus entered the famous house in Elstree on Thursday night, as one of 16 housemates, and survived his first brush with eviction at the weekend, earning full housemate status.

So far this week he has ripped a phone book in half to earn the title of strongest housemate, and clashed with alpha female Lisa after threatening to throw a hot water token over the fence.

Marcus, who is single, describes himself as "fearless and manly" but also a "big kid in a man’s body" and says he exaggerates everything to tell a "cool story".

His dream job, he says, would be a porn star or a toy designer and he lists his bad habits as swearing, chewing his nails and using the worst swear words.

One of his proudest moments was renovating the windows in Windsor Castle.

His antics in the house have already divided opinions on Big Brother fan boards.

One, who posted on the website Digital Spy, under the name 'heavenly', said: "Yes, he is strange. Serial killer... will kill the HMs off one by one given half the chance. There is something about him, that I really want him in the house."

Another posted, 'glowboy', added: "At the moment he seems a bit too grumpy. 35 going on 60!"
