Set to arrive in Harrow on Wednesday, July 25, the flame will begin at Headseone Manor Park, where the Mayor of Harrow will be there alongside other VIPs.

Here is a breakdown of timings and route of the flame.

Start

9.17 – The flame begins at Headstone Manor. The Mayor of Harrow will be here, along with other VIP’s. Entertainment includes medieval combat, pupils from Vaughan school doing a specially commissioned piece, archery and Taikwando demonstrations. The flame will be lit and the first runner will kick things off at 9.17. The torch will then leave the manor, do a lap around Besborough cricket ground, and then come back on itself round headstone Gardens/headstone drive to Palmerstone road.

9.41 – The flame will reach Palmerstone road, where there will be Dancing, dohl drummers and people waving banners. It will then travel down station road to the civic centre.

9.45 – The flame reaches the civic centre, where there will be a cheerleading troupe entertaining the crowds. The flame will continue down station road towards the town centre.

9.54 – The flame reaches Katie’s statue in the town centre. Harrow Community Radio will be there to liven the atmosphere, with the ignite dance troupe and the Merrydowners Morris dancing. The flame will then continue onto Harrow on the hill.

10.08 – The flame will reach Harrow school, where it will be greeted by the schools 1200 international students waving flags. St Marys church bells will be ringing and The glen trew pipes will be playing. The flame then will continue down Peterborough/London Road & Sudbury hill.

10.18 – The flame will reach St Georges school where it will be greeted by school children waving banners and flags. It continues down Sudbury hill.

10.22 The flame reaches the bottom of Sudbury hill where it is handed over to Brent.

Harrow’s relay is not ticket only, and everybody is encouraged to come and wave the flame on.

However the public will not be able to enter headstone manor whilst the torch is there. The section in Headstone Manor is invite and accredited media only.

The public will be able to enter Bessborough cricket ground to see the lap on the grounds on a first come first served basis.

There is no parking provision for anybody so we would urge people to come on foot.

The best place to see the flame would be on headstone gardens/headstone drive.

However, this area is expected to be very crowded, and organisers are encouraging people to line the route at other points.

In addition to the entertainment, LOCOG’s sponsors Coca Cola, Samsung and Lloyd TSB will be at various points handing out freebees to people coming to watch the relay. These points will be at Headstone Manor, in the town centre and Harrow on the Hill.

Whilst the public will not be able to enter headstone Manor whilst the flame is there, from 9.30am on the 25th July, there is an Olympic family fun day free for the public to enjoy afterwards, with arts and crafts and sports activities to try.
