A SEX ATTACKER jailed for assaulting an elderly woman in Richmond has admitted two further rapes and targeting three more homes in the area.
Keith Fenton was given an indeterminate sentence in 2008 after confessing to robbing and raping a 70-year-old woman at knifepoint in her Richmond home on June 21 that year.
The 38-year-old, formerly of Osterley Park Road, Southall, this week pleaded guilty to two fresh counts of rape in Ealing.
He had already admitted attempting to break into three homes around Kew in the weeks leading up to the attack for which he was first sentenced.
Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) London lawyer Roz Wardell said it was important for Fenton's victims to see justice done.
"Keith Fenton is a predatory serial sex offender and these further convictions will ensure he is not allowed back into society for a long time," she added.
Kingston Crown Court heard how Fenton had targeted three vulnerable women in Kew and tried to break in and rape them at knifepoint, only to be disturbed each time during the act.
In what a police spokeswoman described as a series of 'preparation offences', he first tried to force his way into a home on May 16, 2008, using a screwdriver.
Between March 6 and June 22 that year, Fenton then attempted to remove the putty from the window of another property before scaling a lightning conductor at a third address and trying to climb through an open window.
Each time he was disturbed before entering, leaving his intended victims none the wiser. He also admitted befriending an extremely vulnerable woman in Ealing and raping her twice while she was drunk.
He told detectives how he had taken Viagra and cut her clothing while she was unable to move, before beginning the attacks, which took place between March 6 and June 22.
At what was due to be the first day of his trial at Kingston Crown Court on Monday (July 19), Fenton admitted two counts of rape.
He had already confessed to three counts of attempted trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence when he appeared for a plea hearing at the same court on April 12.
The convictions follow a two-year investigation by detectives from the violent and sexual crime unit at Richmond Police.
Fenton was originally sentenced in November 2008 after admitting offences including false imprisonment, aggravated burglary and sexual assault. He is due to return to Kingston Crown Court on September 24, when he will be sentenced for all five new offences.
