The man who died in custody at Uxbridge police station has been named.
Richard Brian Freeman, 57, of St Christopher Road, Cowley, was found collapsed at the police station in Warwick Place on the morning of Tuesday, June 24, and died shortly afterwards.
Officers had arrested him in Peachey Lane, Cowley, the previous afternoon at about 3.30pm, on suspicion of causing damage to a car.
A post mortem examination has been carried out but no cause of death has been given and an inquest has been opened and adjourned to a date to be set.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission has taken charge of the matter and is liaising with Mr Freeman’s family.
