POLICE investigating a complaint that a man tried to film up a woman's skirt on a train have said they want to question this man in this CCTV image.

British Transport Police have released the appeal following late afternoon incident which took place on the train, which stopped at Ealing Broadway and Southall, on Wednesday November 22.

Detective Constable Chris Church said: “The victim, a 46-year-old woman from Maidenhead, was travelling on board the train when she noticed a man behaving suspiciously and believed he was using his mobile phone to film up her skirt.

“After moving seats to get away from him she saw him go on to do the same to two other female passengers. So far these women have not come forward. We believe they were not aware of the man’s actions, and I would very much like to speak to them.”

All three women would have been on the train, which set out from London Paddington at 4.12pm, heading towards Maidenhead. Mr Church said officers believed one woman was wearing a grey woollen beret and left the train at Burnham. The other was blonde and left the train at Twyford.

Officers are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incidents, or who recognises the man in the image, to contact police.

Mr Church added: “I would also like to hear from anyone who may have seen the same man acting in a similar manner perhaps in another location.

“This type of behaviour is extremely unpleasant, intrusive, and totally unacceptable.

“Thankfully incidents of this nature are rare, but they have no place on the rail network and I am determined to catch the person responsible.”
