A man in Pimlico was shot in the leg and stabbed in the torso in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service shortly before 12.20am today (August 27) to a home in Cumberland Street near the Churchill Gardens Estate.

When they arrived they found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg and stab wounds to the torso.

He was taken to a central London hospital in a serious but non-life threatening condition.

The shooting comes just two weeks after a gang of 25 people were jailed for dealing heroine, cocaine, cannabis and MDMA on Pimlico’s streets , especially in the Churchill Gardens and Warwick estates.

A boy as young as 14-years-old was sentenced on August 12, with 15 out of the 25 men, women and boys, who were mainly teenagers, coming from the area around Churchill Gardens, or the estate itself while others were from elsewhere in London but had been dealing drugs in Pimlico .

Police are asking anybody with information or who was in the area at the time of last night’s shooting and stabbing to call them on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
