A MAN suffered 'life-changing' injuries after falling from a railway bridge in Hayes.

Police and ambulance were called to Bournes Bridge, in Dawley Road, Hayes, on Wednesday (October 12) evening, to reports of a man threatening to jump off onto the lines below.

When the emergency services arrived just after 10pm, the man, believed to be in his early 40s and from the local area, was found on the tracks.

He was taken to St Mary's Hospital, in Paddington, with burns caused by coming into contact with the live rails.

His injuries were serious but not life-threatening, and his condition was described as 'stable'.

The British Transport Police (BTP) said that the incident was being treated as 'non-suspicious'. The lines were cleared, and train services resumed at 11.20pm.
