A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in North End Road.
The 23-year-old was knifed once, believed to be in the chest, outside Lloyds TSB bank just before 5pm on Monday.
He was taken to a central London hospital where his condition was initially diagnosed as critical. He is now serious but stable.
A woman in her 40s was arrested a short time later, with witnesses reporting she was found in nearby Ladbrokes.
She was held for attempted murder and remains in custody at a west London police station.
Crime scenes are in place outside both Lloyds TSB and Ladbrokes.
A staff member at Betfred, opposite Ladbrokes, saw the woman arrested and spotted a knife on the pavement.
The witness said: "A knife was on the curb, wrapped in blue plastic."
A spokesman for the Met said: "Police were called at 16:50 on Monday afternoon to North End Road with the junction of Tournay Road to reports of a man stabbed. Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and a 23-year-old man was taken to a central London Hospital.
"Officers from Fulham are investigating and arrested a woman in her 40s on suspicion of attempted murder."
