A 34-YEAR-OLD man died after being hit by a train at Harrow and Wealdstone station.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on the track adjacent to the platform at shortly before 8pm last Wednesday.

He was struck and injured by the northbound 7.40pm London Midland service from Euston to Manchester.

Transport for London was forced to suspend the Bakerloo line between Harrow and Wealdstone station and Stonebridge Park.

The inquest into his death, which is not being treated as suspicious by the investigating British Transport Police, is due to be opened at North London Coroner's Court in Barnet today (Thursday), when his identity will be confirmed.
