A man has been taken to hospital after his Mercedes was in collision with a bus this morning.

He was treated at the scene in Chelsea Embankment at the junction with Albert Bridge by crews from London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance and taken to a central London hospital at 7.45am.

Police confirmed they were called at 6.50am to reports of a road traffic collision between a black Mercedes and a bus.

A spokeswoman said: “Injuries to the driver of the Mercedes are not deemed to be life threatening or changing.

“There were no injuries to the bus passengers but the driver sustained a slight injury to his neck and leg. He was taken to hospital as a precaution. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Chelsea Embankment was closed until 9am causing big delays during rush hour, especially on Albert and Battersea Bridges with most of the congestion cleared by 10am.
