A MAN'S body was found by railway staff near Ealing Broadway station this morning.
The victim, who is believed to have been struck by a train, was discovered by staff near to where they railway passes under Hanger Lane just after 8am.
Trains travelling from London Paddington to Reading experienced delays but were running by 9am.
Police remained at the scene searching an entrance and the track around Hanger Lane for clues to the man's final moments.
A British Transport Police Spokesman said: "We received reports of a body on the railway line near to Ealing Broadway Railway Station at just after 8am this morning (31 December).
"The body of a white male, who was later certified dead at the scene, was sighted by rail staff near to where the railway passes under Hanger Lane.
"Inquiries to formally identify him are ongoing. Although initial information suggests that his injuries are consistent with being struck by a train, at this stage the death is being treated as unexplained."
