Cannabis factory found in West Ealing

A homeless man has been jailed for eight months after 320 cannabis plants were found at an address in West Ealing.

Vinh Van Luong, 39 of no fixed abode was sentenced to eight months imprisonment at Harrow Crown Court on June 23 for production of cannabis. He will be deported after serving time.

On Monday, June 9, officers from Cleveland Safer Neighbourhoods Team executed a warrant under section 23 misuse of drugs act at an address in Lynton Avenue, W13 after residents had raised concerns of a possible cannabis factory.

Officers gained entry and discover over 320 cannabis plants. Vinh Van Luong was arrested for production of cannabis. He pleaded guilty at court.

PC Edwin Ade from Cleveland Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: "This is an example of police working together with the community to keep our neighbourhood safe. If we receive information about crime, we will follow it up. Residents should not shy away from reporting crimes or their concerns to us. We will follow up any intelligence provided to us and in a confidential manner."
