A MAN has been charged with refusing to comply with a police request for passwords to two mobile phones.

Nelson Afonso, 21, of Dickens Avenue, Hillingdon, appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday, October 4, accused of refusing to provide passwords to a Blackberry and to a Nokia mobile phone he had in his possession.

Afonso also denied supplying cannabis in Uxbridge Road but admitted possessing cannabis at his home. Both charges relate to September 27. It was then the police ordered him to comply with their request under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act.

Afonso did not enter a plea in relation to the RIPA charges and was remanded on bail. He will return to court on Thursday, December 15 to answer all charges.
