A MAN has been charged with two counts of rape, one of which took place at a Wembley tube station 23 years ago.

Thames Valley Police officers arrested a 51-year-old John Anthony Walker, of Moor End Lodge in Hemel Hempsted, on Tuesday morning on suspicion of two sex attacks.

He was charged on this morning and was due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates Court.

The first rape happened on October 16 1987 on the same night a hurricane hit the south east of the country, and is thought to have taken place near Wembley Park Tube station.

The second offence took place on the platform of Marlow Railway Station on the evening of April 6 1989.
