A man has been arrested after climbing up a billboard and throwing objects down at police in Bedfont.

The incident on Minimax corner, at the junction of Staines Road and Fagg's Road, happened as police were carrying out an arrest enquiry, yesterday (3) around lunchtime.

Officers said while the man was standing on the advertising board hurling objects at them he also destroyed a light unit.

The incident began at 1.30pm and the man stood down within half an hour, and was arrested by officers at the scene.

There were no reported injuries.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police were carrying out an arrest enquiry and the subject climbed up a billboard and refused to come down at 1.27pm.

"The male was throwing items at officers.

"The male has also destroyed a light unit on the top of the bill board.

"At 1.57pm the male came down of his own volition.

"He was arrested."

Today (4), police are also appealing for anyone who has seen missing teenager Veronika Weiserova to contact them.
