A man has been arrested after a pedestrian was hit by a bus at the junction of Shepherd's Bush Road and Goldhawk Road on Monday afternoon.

The male victim, believed to be aged between 40-45, suffered serious head injuries after being struck by a 272 bus. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and then taken to Charing Cross Hospital as a priority.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Hammersmith Police Station, where he was later bailed until September. The bus driver stopped at the scene and was released.

Roads leading off Shepherd's Bush Green were sealed off while investigations were carried out, causing severe traffic delays in the area.
