A Sri Lankan man accused of stabbing teenager Craig Marshall to death outside a tower block denied murder today.

The 19-year-old was attacked near Rufford Tower in Lexden Road, Acton, on September 25 last year.

Kandeepan Balasubramaniam, 21, appeared at the Old Bailey by video link from prison accused of murder.

He entered a not guilty plea and Judge Jeremy Roberts QC set the two-week trial for June 1 this year.

Craig, of Meredith Tower, Hanbury Road, Acton, west London, died in hospital from multiple stab wounds the morning after the attack. He was the 27th teenager to be killed in London in 2008.

Balasubramaniam, of Rufford Tower, Lexden Road, Acton, was remanded in custody.
