Police are investigating an incident in which a 65-year-old man was left in a serious condition after an incident at Uxbridge station.

The victim, from the Wembley area, was involved in what British Transport Police (BTP) describe as ‘an altercation’ at the station in Uxbridge High Street at around noon on Saturday, January 3.

BTP have clarified that the incident was more of an argument than a physical attack as earlier reported.

There are no details of the other person involved, and BTP says it is analysing images from the station's numerous CCTV cameras to try to piece the sequence of events together.

Met Police and London Ambulance Service staff attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital where he is in a ‘serious but stable’ condition. The station was closed for a short time.

BTP said: “Anyone who witnessed an altercation on Saturday morning at Uxbridge station or on a Metropolitan line train should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference 130 of 03/01/2015.”
