A TRADER caught with a huge stash of fake DVDs has been jailed for four months.
Sayad Quadri had more than 2,000 counterfeit films for sale when trading standards officers visited his stall at Hounslow West.
His collection contained 50 copies of Bollywood hits Om Shanti Om and Saawariya, along with a number of unclassified adult videos.
The 56-year-old, of Harlech Gardens, Heston, pleaded guilty to 13 offences at Isleworth Crown Court on April 7 and was sentenced to four months for each charge, to run concurrently.
Cllr Barbara Reid, lead member for environment and planning, said: "I trust that this prison sentence will send out a clear message to producers and sellers of counterfeit goods.
"Selling them constitutes unfair competition to honest traders who are trying to earn an honest living, particularly during a time of recession."
