THE grandson of former world speed record holder Sir Malcolm Campbell visited Springwell Junior School in Heston last Wednesday to read from his first book.

Malcolm Hulme - who is also the nephew of Donald Campbell, the only man to set both land and water world speed records - talked to pupils at the school, in Vicarage Farm Road, about his children's book, Eric and the Woolly Jumpers.

His uncle Donald, who was born in Kingston, broke eight world speed records in the 1950s and 60s. He died in 1967 while attempting to set a new world water speed mark.

Donald's father, Sir Malcolm, broke the land speed record nine times and the water speed record four times between 1924 and 1939.
