London Mayor Boris Johnson casts General Election vote at Islington polling station

The Mayor of London voted at Hanover Primary School, a short distance from his London home

Conservative candidate for Uxbridge & South Ruislip Boris Johnson cast his vote in the 2015 General Election at an Islington Polling Station on Thursday (May 7).

The London Mayor - who was accompanied by his wife Marina Wheeler - was greeted by a media frenzy outside the polling station at Hanover Primary School.

Johnson didn't stop for the waiting media but spoke briefly to French journalists ahead of the election count.

The Mayor of London was previously an MP for Henley-on-Thames and is one of 13 candidates for the Uxbridge & South Ruislip constituency.
