A PROFESSIONAL rugby club has been linked with a possible move to The Hive.

London Broncos Rugby League are the tenants of Harlequins RFC at Twickenham Stoop Stadium in Twickenham, south-west London, but need to find a new home once the current season ends in October.

The Hive, at The Hive Football Centre, Barnet FC’s training ground in Camrose Avenue, Edgware, is just one such potential ground suggested in the national press for the Rugby Super League outfit, whose 2014 campaign will begin in January or February next year.

A spokesman for London Broncos said: “We are not in a position to make any comment.”

Curiously, back in 1983 when they were known as Fulham Rugby League, the team played a one-off ‘home’ match at Wealdstone FC’s former ground Lower Mead that was sold to make way for the Tesco superstore in Station Road, Harrow.
