I BELIEVE councils should be very much more answerable to the public, more open and democratic and not always have the final say.

Take a look around and you will notice most councils are pretty well doing much the same.

Parking policies, lack of road maintenance, spending our cash on yellow lines, traffic lights and junctions, just to name a few things. How can we stop it?

I suspect there is possibly a hidden government agenda.

Ice-cream vans have been around a long time, from the early 1950s as I remember, and very popular with the family.

We used to run out and greet them - trust me I am not fat as the result of it!

Anyway, I did not know an iced lolly was fattening.

So why don't they ban KFC, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, doner kebabs and ice-cream full stop.

Shall I go on?
