Green Party activists in Hounslow joined thousands of environmentalists on Saturday as they took part in the Global Climate Campaign March.

The march finished at Parliament Square where speakers included Green Party leader Caroline Lucas and Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg .

Protesters voiced their opposition to Heathrow expansion, new coal power stations and to the expansion of agrofuels, which they claim has negative impacts on forests and world food supply.

John Hunt, Green Party parliamentary candidate for Brentford and Isleworth, said "Significant progress to avoid irreversible and catastrophic climate change requires that we reduce all sources of pollution.

"Aviation, a luxury, and also the fastest-growing source of greenhouse gases cannot be granted any exemptions."
