REGARDING the BEA hangars featured in Fly Past (Chronicle January 21).

I worked there in the 1960s.

It was known as the Queen Mary hangar, because it was the same length as the Queen Mary. Not many people knew that. We worked on all the BEA aircraft and were called the Run Gang. The only aircraft we could not get into the hangars was the Vickers Vanguard - the tail was too high.
