The council has announced the removal of about 30 “unsightly advertising hoardings” to make our streets “cleaner and greener”, including a hoarding about Fernando Torres put up by Paddy Power opposite Chelsea football ground.

A pity the council forgot to take down the banner nearby, one of scores plastering the borough’s streets advertising the council’s great achievements.

Typically, lower tax – less crime, lower tax – better parks.

Do criminals decide to avoid the borough and do flowers magically bloom because the council tax has been reduced? Paddy Power paid for that hoarding, we pay for the council’s advertisements.
