Why doesn’t Hammersmith and Fulham Council back the Big London Energy Switch, the scheme that mobilises consumer power to help us all get a better deal from the powerful energy companies?

Local Conservatives may disapprove of free collective bargaining, but residents are getting help from many other London boroughs, including Richmond Council as well as Lib Dem and Labour-run administrations. More than 15,000 households have joined the scheme, under which energy companies are invited to offer us their cheapest tariffs. The deadline is Monday. Register online at biglondonenergyswitch.org.uk and help a neighbour register too if they’re not on the internet.
