It has worried me for some time that Hallfield Estate in Lancaster Gate Ward provides so few facilities for its teenagers.

They are a nice group of young people whom I have met over the years, hanging out aimlessly in the throughway of the estate with nothing to do and nowhere to go.

My feeling of injustice on their behalf was increased this week on reading the October issue of the Westminster Reporter.

This magazine is issued by Westminster Council with the remit of telling us how brilliant it is.

It contains an article on youth facilities and a list showing that there are 18 clubs or meeting places for the young scattered throughout the borough.

Most of them are based on or near housing estates and only two are situated in W2 and nowhere near Hallfield.

I hope Westminster Council sees fit to remedy this injustice before too long.
