LAMPTON School has been rated outstanding by Ofsted for the third inspection running.

The secondary school, in Lampton Avenue, Hounslow, received top marks for all four criteria on which it was judged.

The inspectors, who visited the school on May 22 and 23, said its teaching was outstanding and students made better than average progress.

Lampton headteacher Sue John praised the hard work of staff and pupils, adding that the school was working to raise students’ expectations in line with their achievements.

“We keep trying to raise the bar and part of that is making sure pupils know what they can go on to achieve,” she said.

“Especially where students’ parents don’t have a history of going on to higher education, we want to instil some belief and make them feel they can compete with pupils from the independent sector.”
