The Labour party has taken two Conservative seats in Heathrow Villages ward.

June Nelson held on to her seat with 1,180 votes and has been joined by new councillors Manjit Khatra who gained 1.183 votes and Peter Money with 1,270.

They take the places of Conservatives David Benson and Sukhpal Kaur, neither of whom stood this year.

"It seems to be following the London pattern," said Peter Curling, leading of the Labour party in Hillingdon.

"The airport, particularly the Conservatives embracing the idea that Heathrow may close and be redeveloped, struck a chord with a lot of people. They are against expansion but rely on the airport for their jobs.

"I'm generally pleased. It's pleasing to see the Labour votes increased quite substantially across the borough.

"In some instances not enough to take seats, but the over all number of votes is going up."

Overall the Conservatives won 42 seats and Labour won 23 per cent.
