Aileen Scheers, of the RSPCA Middlesex North West branch, said: “They are all mostly black, apart from one tortoiseshell, and are seven boys and three girls.

“They were found in a cardboard box in an alleyway without food, and they were reported by a member of the public to the main RSPCA number.

“We have given them all names beginning with L. The blacks males are Larry, Lenny, LLewelyn, Leopold, Logon, Leroy; the black and white male is Lochlann; the black and white female is Lavinia; the calico female is Loretta and the tortoiseshell female is Leonora.

“We think they are two litters so are worried that there are two unneutered females – who are likely to have another litter of unwanted kittens.”
