A PINNER man has been jailed for the murder of an innocent teenager who was knifed in the neck just yards from his home.
Nugent Rowe, 30, (top picture)of St Thomas Drive, Pinner, was sentenced today at the Old Bailey for the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Danny O’Shea (bottom pictured) in east London.
The judge told Rowe he must serve a life sentence behind bars, with a minimum of 24 years.
Brothers Paul and Andrew Johnson, from Harrow, alongside Kevin Richards, from Willesden, O’Neil Wareham, 30, and Ferron Perue, 24, both of Toorack Road, Harrow Weald, and three others, were cleared of any involvement in the killing.
Danny was stabbed in the neck just 200 metres from his mother’s house in Gill Avenue, Canning Town, the court heard.
Following the unprovoked attacked, the teenager staggered along his own road and knocked on the door of the first house he came to in Boreham Avenue, on the corner of Gill Avenue, before collapsing.
Police and London Ambulance Service were called shortly after 6.15pm on December 2, 2011, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The jury was told the killing was a planned revenge attack for robbery.
It transpired that Danny had no involvement the robbery and was entirely innocent.
Rowe was convicted by a jury at the Old Bailey court yesterday (Thursday) following a five-month trial.
Nine others were cleared by the jury of murder, manslaughter, conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to commit actual bodily harm.
Included among these were Chris Nathaniel, 41, and Paul Boadi, 35, who were celebrity agents with high-profile clients including Rio Ferdinand, John Terry and Usain Bolt. Mr Nathaniel, who set up the NVA Entertainment Group in 2005, had even helped to launch an anti-knife crime campaign with former prime ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
