A CHILDREN'S cookery workshop which helps youngsters make informed and healthy food choices and recipes, is one of three finalists to appear on the National LotteryTV show on Saturday, September 5.

The school, in Gunnersbury Lane, Acton could win £2000 to spend on their project.

They could also get the chance to meet the prime time show's presenters, Nick Knowles and Myleene Klass, and to share the red carpet with Strictly Come Dancing favourites, John Sargeant and Lisa Snowdon.

Fiona Hamilton-Fairley, Principal and CEO of The Kids' Cookery School for 8-14-year-olds, said: "We're absolutely delighted to have reached the finals of The National Lottery Awards.

"I'd really like to thank everyone who has supported us so far by voting. The Kid's Cookery School has benefited greatly from Lottery funding and the awards are a fantastic way to celebrate all the hard work that goes into making the cookery workshops a success.

"We can't wait for the show, everyone is so excited and if we win, it will be fantastic - the topping on the pizza."

Small groups of students work in kitchens and are taught by professional chefs to prepare healthy dishes from scratch, with fresh ingredients.

They are then given a copy of the recipes so they can also prepare the dishes at home.
